French conductor Nathalie Marin has built an international career that bridges Europe and Latin America, marked by artistic curiosity, stylistic openness, and a strong commitment to orchestral and operatic music.

Her musical journey has led her to hold key artistic positions across several continents. In 2017, she was appointed Permanent Conductor of the National Opera of Mersin in Turkey, following her tenure as Resident Conductor of the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2011 to 2013, she served as Artistic Director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador, where she developed ambitious projects combining symphonic repertoire and cultural dialogue. Earlier in her career, she founded and led the Ensemble Orchestral de l’Isère in France for nearly two decades, shaping it into a recognized artistic force.

As a guest conductor, Nathalie Marin has worked in more than thirty countries, collaborating with leading orchestras such as the Brussels Philharmonic, the Buenos Aires Philharmonic, the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, and numerous national symphony orchestras across Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East. Her performances have taken place in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, La Fenice in Venice, and the Festspielhaus of Bregenz.

Her repertoire spans both symphonic and operatic traditions. She has conducted major operas such as Macbeth, Der Freischütz, Tosca, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, and The Pearl Fishers, bringing together musical precision and a deep sense of dramatic storytelling.

Trained by Maestro Michel Tabachnik, Nathalie Marin holds a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. She also served as Assistant Conductor at the Royal Danish Opera and refined her operatic expertise under the guidance of Jean-Claude Hartemann.

Her discography reflects her artistic diversity, with recordings such as Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns, Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev, and innovative cross-cultural projects blending French music, flamenco, and contemporary creation.

A member of the International Music Council and Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters, Nathalie Marin continues to pursue a musical path driven by transmission, exploration, and the belief that classical music remains a living, evolving art form.
